Psycho Analysis
Out of the total cost of the Psychos film production ($806,947.55) the opening credit sequence cost around $21,000. The film had (what is was considered at the time) a very low budget, so the cost of the opening titles was definitely a large expense.

While researching Hitchcock's Psycho, I found out about it's
unusual marketing strategy - great success.
 
The public would not be allowed to come into the theatre once the movie has started because, as Hitchcock said 'You must see Psycho from beginning to enjoy it fully'. This statement was taken to another level when a policeman was present to ensure that no one will enter mid way through the film. This policy definitely gave publicity to the film and brought the audience to the cinema.
