Question 1- were you scared by the film? 1= not scared 10= very scared
The mean average was 6.3 for how scared were they at the
opening sequence. We wanted our audience to be scared at the opening but not so
scared they didn’t want to keep watching the movie. The film is targeted at
16-24 and our majority of audience we asked are 16/17.
Question 2- Would you come see the whole film in cinema?
All 10 people said that they would go see this movie in the
cinemas if it were to be released. This is positive on our behalf as we feel
like we have really got to our target market and with this might consider in
the future widening our target market to hit more profits.
Question3- What was the scariest bit for you?
For what scared you the most, the doll got 8 comments
meaning that our initial research from our target audience was correct. By
following this initial research we were able to hit our audience where they
most got scared. The door banging was the second biggest scare which is also
effective because this is also what scares Heather, our main character, so they’re
able to empathise with our lead character and feel a part of the dramatic
scene. Question 4- ‘Was the storyline clear? If no then what could we have done differently?’
Out of all ten people, all of them thought that our storyline was clear and easy to follow, all of them noticing that the black and white shots we used were flashbacks.
Question 5- ‘What was good about our opening sequence’
The feedback from our audience was very positive and we received a wide range of different comments. Several of our audience members said that our opening sequence was atmospheric, moody and fast, few said that we had a good strong storyline and that the editing cuts we used were effective, and finally many of them said that the music/sound effects we used were realistic and made our opening sequence successful.
Question 6- To improve Beast Productions further what could we improve for future films?’
The responses we received from this question were all fairly positive and people thought that we could have smoother editing, the dark scenes were too dark meaning it was hard to see the characters, and that the whole thing could be made a little more creepy.
